Texas ASLA Chapter Members:

Over the next couple of weeks as I officially transition from serving as your Chapter President this past year, I wanted to personally thank you all for the opportunity. Our Chapter, the best in the nation, has continued to see growth in many ways. Our membership continues to grow, our Section leaders are continuing to grow involvement in their regions by providing local opportunities for membership, and we have seen growth in our student enrollment numbers and young professionals entering our passion driven profession. Our endowments at the 4 Texas University programs continue to grow with many thanks to our Sections and our successful Silent Auction at our Annual Conference with thanks to some of our firms and of course or Sponsors and Vendors who provided donations.

The Texas Chapter Executive Committee recently held our annual transition meeting and we have some great plans headed into the new year. My focus this past year, as some of you may remember from my first message, was on Education and increasing the involvement from our younger professionals. One success that we now have in place is an application process for students interested in attending Advocacy Day in Washington D.C. with the Texas Chapter leadership. This application will begin to be distributed to our 4 University programs in November and we look forward to this opportunity remaining in place year after year.

The Galveston Conference was once again another successful conference even with some of the changes implemented. As you may remember we had the name tags that were your continuing education tracking tool this past year. We hope that you found this to be an organized way for your CEPH tracking vs. in the past the CEPH slips handed out for record keeping. This is in place and will continue as we head into Irving this coming April.

Lara Moffat will be coming in with new energy to continue on our successful path and continued growth. I am looking forward to serving alongside her, assisting with her goals for our Chapter as needed in my new role as your Past President.

I am always available to answer questions of membership so please always know I can be reached anytime by email at chall@crosstimbersstudio.com. Thank you all again for the opportunity to serve, I had a great time meeting many of you in our organization and see some of the incredible work being produced in our State.
