Please see below for a letter from our local chapter chair addressing the 2011 ASLA State Conference:

As some of you know, the Houston/Gulf Coast Section will be hosting the 2011 ASLA State Conference. This time we will be hosting the Conference at the fun and exciting Moody Gardens Conference Center in Galveston. We have started the initial preparation for the Conference and at this time we are calling for volunteers to assist in task of planning the State’s Conference for April 27-29, 2011.
 
This time we are asking if there are firms who would take the lead of a specific committee. We would like the Chair and the bulk of the committee to be from a single firm. This doesn’t mean that if a person has an interest in volunteering on a different committee can’t. You can volunteer on any committee. However by setting up the committees in this manner, we can have efficient meetings and communication within the committee. Plus, the firms can have a sense of ownership, a stake in the Conference, and will be recognized for their contributions in the program book.

It has been said that many hands make light work. The 2011 State Conference is no different than any other volunteer planned and hosted event. This is your conference and it is what you make it.  Let’s make it something great!
