J. Robert Anderson, FASLA Annouces Retirement
June 16, 2017

The office of J Robert Anderson FASLA is closing after thirty-three years of practice. J. Robert “Bob” Anderson designed many landscape projects during his practice, inspired by the natural environment, scenic beauty and native plants of Central Texas and beyond. His Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, 1995, has widely influenced other designers, property owners, and businesses in Austin, Texas and nationally to include native plants and ecologically informed design in new projects. The Wildflower Center and Mr. Anderson’s firm received the Merit Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) in 1996, one of the country’s most prestigious awards for landscape architectural design. The firm received fifteen design and planning awards from local, state and national peer and industry groups, including twelve from the American Society of Landscape Architects, one from the Arbor Day Foundation, two from the Texas Urban Forest Council, as well as his membership in the College of Fellows ASLA, and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Texas Tech University College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences.  Read More
